Kundalini YogaKundalini is the unlimited energy potential that already exists at the base of the spine in every human. The yogic practice of Kundalini combines mind, senses, and body to achieve psycho-spiritual growth and a merging of the individual consciousness with the universal consciousness. There is an emphasis on releasing blocks along the spine and in the endocrine system, incorporating all of the aspects of Hatha Yoga; breath, postures and relaxation. It also involves rhythmic movement, and chanting or silent meditation. Through a variety of experiences including the disciplines of yoga, meditation, and pranayama as well as a number of consciousness raising techniques, the kundalini energy moves upward along the central energy channel of the spine to give the experience of expanded awareness to human beings. Kundalini Yoga is appropriate for all, and especially good for those with weight issues, arthritis, depression, hypertension, stress, and any nervous system dysfunction or other physically limiting conditions.
