Nia (pronounced Nee-ah) blends movement taken from the martial, healing and dance arts with world music to create a dynamic way to improve strength and flexibility.   Nia helps to optimize how we experience our bodies, is done by people of various ages and is fun.  Come move, stretch and laugh with us!  Ours is a 60 minute class.  We move barefoot (exercise shoes optional) and do some floor work for which you may want to bring a yoga mat and/or towel.

Cindy Scholz I love teaching NIA. My greatest pleasure is sharing the joys of movement, the wisdom of yoga and the strengths of the martial arts with my students. I also enjoy integrating themes from my background in Design and Psychology. I’ve trained as a Jazz dancer with Jeanette Neill for 30 years, as well as serving on the Board of Directors for Boston Youth Moves. I’ve practiced Anusara Yoga with Jennifer Harvey for 10 life transformative years, and have completed the Anusara Immersions with Deb Neubauer. I am currently studying the SvaTantra meditation teachings with Professor Paul Muller-Ortega.
My desire in NIA is to facilitate fun by creating an atmosphere of acceptance in order to give students the freedom to express their own unique beauty.
